Arco of Kyrandors Home is our first shorthair weimaraner. He was born on the 21th of May 2001 in Oisterwijk (the Netherlands), by the family Van Roessel. Kyra, his mom, had a wonderfull litter of 10 pups, 6 males and 4 bitches. As soon as he arrived in our place, it was clear that our little guy had a bit of a dominant caractere, but we loved it ! He enjoyed his weekly puppyclass, and when he grow up, he could participate in a huntingschool, he was 10 months at that time. There he could develop his talent. He became an excellent hunting dog, who would commit a murder to please his leader. At 2 years of age he achieved more than nice results in different hunting competitions. And a year later, he was awarded as the best Belgian hunting weimaraner! After a terrible car accident in May 2005, he is parralysed at one leg, and an amputation was necessary. It meant the end of showing and working with him. But even that didn't stop him to play games with his longhair-friend and go with us for long walks. He can run and make fun, even on three legs! He has accepted his accident and now is again a happy family dog.

Very soon after Arco arrived, we were totally infected with the weim virus and we decided to have a second weimaraner. This time we were charmed with a longhair of the litter 'Van de Putterslamp' of Stefan Windelinckx from Belgium. Casparov van de Putterslamp joint us the 12th of July 2003.  Arco liked his buddy and soon they became the best friends. Casper started very young with a weekly showtraining, and at 8 months he began - just like Arco did - the huntingschool. That's why he has grown up as a great showdog who achieved also excellent results in huntingmatches (work after the shot) and now he's improving his field-trial talent. But most of all, he likes practical hunting.

Our two dogs live together with us in the livingroom, where they are easy and quiet. At night, the sleep outsite the house, also during the winter. They both know that thàt is there place for spending the night and in the morning, they can come in again.

8 february 2010, Ginger vom Fuchberg was born. Ginger is born in Germany with the Harbecke-Family. Ilya, that's how we call her, joined us on the 4th of April. She is a very cute little dog and she isn't afraid of anything. We hope that Ilya will be as happy with us as the other two dogs.

Because Arco and Casper were our first weimaraners, they will always have a special place in our hearts and lives. So, when you're charmed with our weim story, please remember: weimaraners will always be hunting dogs, with a dominant caracter. They're not pleased with a short daily walk. To keep them happy you have to work with them, that don't mean you have to go for your hunting permission, but please, don't put your friend in a bench the whole day. That will work for one day, maybe two, but then he will become frustrated, and very soon afterwards he will destroy your interior.
